Our new Corsair 16'

The Tingira Boat Club has recently purchased a 16'Corsair. This fibreglass dinghy is ideal for sail training as its strength and stability allow inexperienced sailors to jump in with more knowledgeable instructors. The boat is capable of taking up to six people in a training situation.

The class is also suitable for the less agile amongst us, as less physical strength and balance is required to sail these boats. We are hoping that members who found the Vagabond fleet a little too frisky will enjoy the Corsair.

Members Peter Fox and Peter Lawson collected the Corsair from the mainland, so it was only fitting that they got first "dibs" on a sail.

Last Friday night saw us raise our glasses in a toast to our new addition and a small competition was conducted by those present to name the boat. The winner was Peter Lawson who can collect his prize this Friday night. Well done, Peter!
